The current legion building received approval for construction on Nov. 19, 1957, at 385 Barnard st.
In the late 1970's due to mismanagement & debt, the building was sold and the club became an office only.
In the early 1980's, legion 139 was revived by a dedicated few, and through court action, regained ownership of the property.
Branch involvement with Variety Club began in 1986, and annual telethon/auctions are now held in the branch in partnership with 139 Children's Fundraising Society.
The legion lounge opened in the basement, the upper floor rented out.
In the early 1990's, the legion being solvent, moved the lounge upstairs again.
Branch 139 has a dedicated L.A.. Charter year in 1948.
Lounge is decorated in a western theme to support the city's famous Williams Lake stampede.
Felker Lake picnic grounds for community use.
